Teen Cited For Pepper Spraying 2 Others In Green Valley: ACPD

Arlington County Police sought petitions for two counts of malicious wounding by a caustic agent for attack in Green Valley.

ARLINGTON, VA — A teenager faces multiple malicious wounding charges after she pepper-sprayed two people Wednesday night in the Green Valley area, according to Arlington County Police.

Officers responded to the 3200 block of 24th Street South around 7:09 p.m. for the report of an assault with a weapon.

An initial investigation revealed that a woman and a juvenile girl were inside the common area of a residential building when they were approached by a teen girl they knew. The teen then pepper sprayed them both before leaving the area on foot, according to police.

The two victims were treated on the scene by emergency medical personnel for injuries that were consistent with pepper spray, according to the incident report.

The officers found the suspect nearby and took her into custody, according to police. They then filed petitions for the suspect on two counts of malicious wounding by a caustic agent.

Under the Code of Virginia, malicious wounding by a caustic agent is a felony with penalties ranging from five to 30 years in prison.
