Verdict Reached On Sexual Assault Charges In Arlington Break-Ins
A verdict has been reached in the case of Geremy Bridgeforth, who was tried on 5 counts tied to a series of sexual assaults in 2023.

ARLINGTON, VA — A jury found Geremy Bridgeforth guilty on multiple charges Friday, including aggravated sexual battery, following a four-day trial in Arlington Circuit Court, according to the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
On Aug. 17, 2023, police arrested Bridgeforth, charging him with burglary with intent to commit murder/rape/robbery and object sexual penetration.
Police also linked Bridgeforth to break-ins and burglaries that occurred April 1 and 2, 2023, at residences in the 3900 block of Fairfax Drive. He was additionally charged with two counts each of burglary, credit card theft, and credit card fraud, as well as petit larceny.

Bridgeforth was also charged with intent to commit murder/rape/robbery and aggravated sexual battery in an April 12, 2023 incident in the Clarendon-Courthouse neighborhood.

During their investigation, detectives linked Bridgeforth to the April 1, 2023, break-in using a partial palm print he left behind at the scene and surveillance video showing him entering the building, according to court documents. Investigators also used geolocation and WiFi to place him at the scene of the crime.
The following night, Bridgeforth broke into a Quincy Plaza building and sexually assaulted a woman, according to court documents.
“DNA samples taken from the victim’s body were subsequently analyzed by the state lab, and Mr. Bridgeforth could not be eliminated as a major contributor of those samples,” according to the commonwealth attorney’s office. “Geolocation and WiFi data showed him in the area.”
DNA samples were also used to place Bridgeforth at the scene of an April 12, 2023, sexual assault in Courthouse Plaza, according to court records.
In total, the jury found Bridgeforth guilty of five charges on Friday stemming from the April 2023 incidents:
- object sexual penetration
- burglary with intent to commit object sexual penetration
- aggravated sexual battery
- burglary with intent to commit aggravated sexual battery
- burglary with intent to commit larceny or any felony.
Bridgeforth will be sentenced on Oct. 3, according to the commonwealth's attorney's office.
