Virginia Weather Forecast: When It Will Stop Raining

We'll see rain all day Friday — and a chance for some showers to continue into Saturday. But things will clear up for the end of the weekend.

The chance for moderate to locally heavy rain Friday may mean localized flooding issues, and watches and warnings may be posted, according to the National Weather Service.

The sun should be peeking out from behind the clouds by mid-day Sunday, but we'll have a breeze keeping temperatures below 70 degrees.

The chance for showers returns Monday night and will linger for the rest of the week.

Today: Rain. High near 55. North wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers, mainly before 9pm. Low around 49. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: A chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday: A chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 71.
