Woman Arrested After Waving Gun At Man In Four Miles Run Area
A 30-year-old woman is facing a weapons charge for waving a gun at a man after he opened the door of his Four Mile Run home, police say.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a 30-year-old woman early Saturday for pointing a gun at a man at a residence in the Four Mile Run area, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 1:45 a.m. for the report of a person with a gun in the 2900 block of South Glebe Road, according to the incident report. A preliminary investigation revealed that a man heard someone knocking at his door. When he opened it, he encountered a woman waving a firearm.
The man closed the door, but the woman banged on it, causing damage to it, police say. The victim fled the scene and contacted police. No injuries were reported.

The officers located the suspect nearby, identifying her as Amanda Humphreys of Arlington. During their investigation, a firearm was recovered, according to ACPD. Humphreys was arrested and charged with brandishing and destruction of property. She was then held without bond.
On Monday morning, Humphreys was arraigned in Arlington General District Court, according to court records. She’s due back in court at 9 a.m on Tuesday for a bond hearing and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 23.

Both the brandishing and destruction of property charges are Class 1 misdemeanors, which are each punishable by up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500, according to the Code of Virginia.
