Arlington Man Faces Murder Charge In Fatal Stabbing Of Woman: Police
An Arlington man was charged with murder on Monday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in a Virginia Square apartment building.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Police Department arrested a man Monday morning in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in the Virginia Square neighborhood of Arlington, police said Monday.
Alimamy Fornah, 35, of Arlington has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Shontae Crawford, 37, of Arlington, according to police.
Shortly before 5 a.m. on Monday, police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Washington Boulevard for the report of a stabbing. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim and suspect were inside their shared apartment when they got into an argument and then Fornah stabbed Crawford, police said.

Police officers found Crawford critically injured in the hallway of the apartment building and immediately began lifesaving measures before she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fornah was found in the building and taken into custody without incident, according to police. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries considered non-life threatening.

The cause of Crawford's death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, police said.
ARLnow reported that the fatal stabbing happened at Terwilliger Place, a new apartment building at 3445 Washington Boulevard, next to the Casual Adventure store. When they arrived, police found "a horrific crime in the hallway and an unresponsive, critically injured woman," according to ARLnow.
During their investigation, police closed the right-hand lane of westbound Washington Blvd. between N Kirkwood Rd. and N Lincoln St. for several hours Monday morning.
This is the second homicide in Arlington in 2023, according to police. The first homicide occurred in an apartment building in the Buckingham neighborhood in March.
