ARLINGTON, VA — Police are on the lookout for a woman who they say attacked a bus driver when he told them they needed to pay the fare or get off the bus in Clarendon Friday evening.

Police were called to the intersection of Clarendon Boulevard and N. Highland Street at around 7:12 p.m. on Nov. 1 to a report of an assault with a weapon, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"[T]he suspect attempted to board a bus with a group of individuals without paying," the report states. "When the bus driver informed them they would need to pay the fare or exit the bus, the suspect assaulted the driver and sprayed him with pepper spray."

The woman got off the bus and fled before police arrived, and the driver was treated for minor injuries, the report states.

Police described the woman as black, 18-25, 5'0"-5'4", 100-120 lbs., regular build, and wearing a gray hoodie and a bandanna.
