Woman Robbed, Assaulted By 2 Suspects In Virginia Square: Police

A woman was robbed and assaulted Monday morning while sitting in her car in the Virginia Square area of Arlington, police said.

ARLINGTON, VA — A woman was robbed and assaulted Monday morning while sitting in her car in the Virginia Square area of Arlington, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

When police arrived at the scene around 8 a.m. on Monday, they learned that the female victim was inside her parked vehicle in the 3400 block of Washington Boulevard when the two suspects approached. One of the suspects opened the passenger door while the other suspect opened the driver’s side door, assaulted the woman and stole her cellphone, police said.

The woman screamed and the suspect who opened the passenger side door ran from the scene, while the other suspect fled in a white SUV, according to police.

Medics evaluated the woman at the scene of the robbery and assault, police said.

The suspect who opened the passenger side door is described as a Hispanic male, about 5-feet, 5-inches to-5-feet, 6-inches tall, with short black hair and wearing a light gray jacket and a crossbody bag.

The suspect who assaulted the woman is described as a Black male, about 6-feet to 6-feet, 1-inch tall, with short black hair and wearing a black t-shirt and pants.
