Woman Stabbed, Robbed Near Key Bridge In Rosslyn: Police

A woman was taken to a hospital Monday evening after getting stabbed while walking near Key Bridge, according to the Arlington police.

ARLINGTON, VA — A woman was taken to a hospital Monday evening after getting stabbed while walking near Key Bridge, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday, police were dispatched to the area of Rosslyn near Key Bridge for the report of a stabbing. The woman was walking in the area when a man approached her from behind, slapped her on the buttocks and knocked her to the ground, police said.

The suspect then stabbed her, “resulting in lacerations,” police said. He fled the area on foot with the woman’s backpack, according to police.

The woman was treated on the scene by medics before being taken to a hospital for injuries considered non-life threatening, police said.

Police searched the area for the man, but could not find him. He reportedly fled down a hill in the direction of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, ARLnow said.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s, about 6-feet tall, wearing all black.
