Shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to the sports stadium at W-L on N. Stafford Street. The man had entered the stadium and started making threats of harm to other people, police said.

The man, Eric Myhre, 35 of Arlington, was detained by bystanders and taken into custody by officers, police said. Myhre was taken to the Arlington jail and held on no bond, according to police.

In February 2022, Yorktown High School was placed on lockdown after someone contacted the police saying the school office had received a threatening phone call, in which a student said they were going to shoot up the school.

After the school was put on lockdown on Feb. 10, 2022, police made telephone contact with the caller, who said they were armed and inside a school bathroom with two hostages.

Police began evacuating students from Yorktown during that incident. Searching the school, police found no evidence of the suspect's claims, and the lockdown was lifted by early evening.
