Ashburn, Loudoun County General Election Early Voting To Open: What To Know

ASHBURN, VA — Ashburn and other Loudoun County voters will have Loudoun County School Board, Virginia House of Delegates, Virginia governor and other key races on the ballot on Nov. 4, 2025. New this year is an early voting location in Ashburn.

What's on the ballot will vary by precinct. All Loudoun County voters will have Virginia governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general as well as a Virginia House of Delegates seat on the ballot. It also includes Loudoun County bond questions on school projects, parks and recreation and public safety projects, and transportation projects on the ballot.

Some districts — Algonkian, Broad Run, Dulles, Leesburg and Sterling — will have Loudoun County School Board seats on the ballot. The Loudoun County School Board has moved to staggered terms, which is why five of the nine seats are up for election in 2025. The Towns of Middleburg and Round Hill elections are on the ballot within those towns.

Early voting will open on Friday, Sept. 19 and continue through Saturday, Nov. 1. On Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 4), polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

How to Vote Early

In-person early voting will run from Sept. 19 through Nov. 1. An accepted form of ID is required to vote in person in Virginia.

The Office of Elections and Voter Registration at 750 Miller Dr. SE, Suite 150, Leesburg will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Extended hours include Oct. 21, 23, 28 and 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is closed on Oct. 13.

Additional early voting locations will open on Oct. 20 — Claude Moore Recreation Center at 46105 Loudoun Park Lane, Sterling; Dulles South Recreation Center at 24950 Riding Center Drive, Chantilly; Carver Senior Center at 200 E Willie Palmer Way, Purcellville and Ashburn Recreation and Community Center at 21105 Coopers Hawk Drive, Ashburn. The new Ashburn Recreation and Community Center has been added as an early voting location for the first time.

Hours for the four additional locations are:

• Monday, Oct. 20 and 27, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Tuesday, Oct. 21 and 28, 12-7 p.m.
• Wednesday, Oct. 22 and 29, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Thursday, Oct. 23 and 30, 12 p.m.-7 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 24 and 31, 10 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

To vote by mail, voters must apply through the Virginia Department of Election website with information like their Virginia Driver’s License or DMV-issued ID card, Social Security number, date of birth, address and contact information. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is 5 p.m. on Oct. 24.

Once they receive the ballot in the mail, completed ballots can be returned by mail, at a 24/7 drop box at the Office of Elections at 750 Miller Drive, Suite 150, Leesburg, at an early voting site during open hours, or at any polling place on Election Day. The deadline return a mail ballot is 7 p.m. on Nov. 4. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 4 and received by noon Friday on the Friday following the election. Ballot tracking is available.

How to Vote on Election Day

The deadline for voter registration or updating your information is Oct. 24. However, same-day registration is available in Virginia beyond the registration deadline, allowing voters to cast a provisional ballot. Check your registration status or register to vote through the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal. Voters may also print and mail a paper voter registration application to the Office of Elections, 750 Miller Drive SE, Suite 150, Leesburg, VA 20175

To vote on Election Day, head to your assigned polling place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Use the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal to find your polling place. An acceptable form of ID is required to vote in person.

The Loudoun County Office of Elections says people with disabilities or mobility issues can vote from their car. Voters can pull up to the curbside voting sign at their polling place, and polling place workers will assist.
