Ashburn, Herndon Tickets Among $1 Million Millionaire's Raffle Winners

ASHBURN, VA — Five lottery winners have scored a million-dollar prize in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, including two in Northern Virginia.

In the New Year's raffle, limited tickets were sold around the state with a chance to win $1 million or other prizes. According to the Virginia Lottery, 1,012 winners were named, with five winning the $1 million top prize, seven winning $100,000, and the rest winning $500.

The $1 million winning tickets were:

• Ticket #068764 from McNair Farms Sunoco, 13470 Coppermine Road in Herndon
• Ticket #074973 from Schmitz Sunoco, 42800 Creek View Plaza in Ashburn
• Ticket #081604 from Lake Mart & Deli, 4795 Scruggs Road in Moneta
• Ticket #229618 from Food Lion, 30 Windward Drive in Fishersville
• Ticket #533140 from 7-Eleven, 3310 Church Road in Henrico

Virginia Lottery rules say the person whose signature is on the back of a ticket is the owner and is entitled to any prize from the ticket. To claim the ticket, the owner must be able to prove their identity and provide their taxpayer identification number, such as a Social Security number.

All prizes greater than $100 will be paid at a Virginia Lottery office. Winners have 180 days to claim the prize or lose the $1 million.

• Ticket #437563 from York Food Mart, 8102 George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown
• Ticket #521879 from The Cave, 1397 Fincastle Turnpike in Tazewell

The Virginia New Year's Millionaire Raffle is a computer-generated game where each player is given one ticket with a six-digit number ranging from 625000 to 000001 to win a prize through a random drawing. Each ticket cost $20.
