Bicyclist Hit-and-Run at East Beech Road

Loudoun County deputies responded to a report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle at the East Beech Road/North Irving Road area around 2:47 p.m. Saturday in Sterling.

The bicyclist, who officials say was not wearing a helmet, was reportedly riding on the sidewalk of East Beech Road when he attempted to make a right turn onto North Irving Road and was struck by a motor vehicle. He was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without attempting to render aid to the bicyclist or contact 911. The crash remains under investigation.
