Cyberattack Claim False, Loudoun County Public Schools Says
Loudoun County Public Schools responded to a social media claim that a cybersecurity issue closed schools on Tuesday.

ASHBURN, VA — Loudoun County Public Schools was hit with a false claim of a cybersecurity issue on Tuesday.
The school system said a social media report claiming schools are closed due to a cybersecurity incident is false. Schools and offices are open on their normal schedules. Tuesday is the Veterans Day holiday, but there is no day off for LCPS students and staff. Another Northern Virginia school district, Manassas City Public Schools, was closed on Monday due to a cyberattack investigation.
Families were asked to look for operating updates from LCPS official sources.

"We take cybersecurity and communication with our community very seriously," the school system shared in a statement. "Should there ever be an issue that affects school operations, we will share verified information directly through our official channels, including our division website, official social media accounts and direct communication to families."
