DUI Checkpoint Friday Night In Loudoun County
In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will celebrate a couple of days early with a sobriety checkpoint Friday.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA—In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will celebrate a couple of days early with a sobriety checkpoint Friday night, May 3. The checkpoint will begin shortly after 10 p.m. Assisting in the drunk hunt will be members of the Loudoun Sheriff's Office Auxiliary Unit, as well as volunteers from the Loudoun chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or MADD.
Said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman in a release: "Be responsible or risk a DUI. If you are going to celebrate this weekend with alcohol, designate a sober driver before your celebration begins."
He also reminded residents that the Washington Regional Alcohol Program will offer free Lyft rides from 4 p.m. Sunday, May 5 to 4 a.m. the following day, as part of the DC area SoberRide program. Furthermore, the LCSO offered other tips:

• Plan a designated driver or a safe way home ahead of time.
• If you are impaired, call a taxi or ride-hailing service, or call a sober friend or family member to get you home safely.
• Immediately report any impaired drivers you see on our roadways to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
• Wear your seatbelt!
