Fourth Suspect in Custody Following Sterling Robberies

In separate incident, victims were held up at gunpoint and three teens are among the suspects.

Authorities have taken a fourth suspect into custody following two reported armed robberies over the weekend in Sterling. The 17-year-old male was located in Fauquier County Monday night, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at 12:40 a.m. July 29 in the vicinity of Sanderson Drive near Northern Virginia Community College in Sterling. The victim reported that four black males robbed him at gunpoint as he got out of his vehicle and took a backpack, a laptop, a smart phone and a wallet.

About an hour later, deputies responded to the 46000 block of Shaw Road where two victims reported being robbed a gunpoint by two males who exited a vehicle. The victims reported that their smart phones were taken.

Deputies located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop; the suspects stopped in the area of Falke Plaza and fled on foot. A search resulted in the arrest of three suspects, one with the assistance of a canine.
Investigators learned that the suspects were staying at an area hotel, searched their room and found what was believed to be evidence related to the case along with two firearms. A fourth suspect got away Saturday, but was arrested Monday by the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators charged Idris Zikria-Showers, 19, of Gainesville, a 16-year-old from Manassas, a 15-year-old from Manassas and the 17-year-old from Prince William County. The names of juveniles charged in crimes are not routinely released by the LCSO. Zikria-Showers is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, while the three juveniles are being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.

The Herndon Police Department, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, the Maryland State Police, the Fairfax Police Department and the U.S. Park Police assisted in the case.
