Junior PGA Championship Starts at Trump National in Sterling
The 38th annual event for junior golfers makes its first stop in Virginia for tournament.

The 38th Junior PGA Championship, presented by Under Armour and Hotel Fitness, begins today at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, the former Lowe’s Island Golf Club, and runs through Aug. 2.
The Junior PGA Championship is where the best in the world get their start, including such notables as Tiger Woods, Inbee Park, Phil Mickelson, Christie Kerr, Jordan Spieth, Alexis Thompson, Luke Guthrie and Michelle Wie. This year’s championship welcomes 156 golfers to Loudoun County. This year’s 72-hole Championship will feature a 54-hole cut to the low 30 boys and 30 girls, including ties.
Each year the field includes past winners, PGA Junior Series event champions, PGA Section winners, many of Polo Golf and Golfweek’s top-ranked players, and selected national junior tournament winners.
