School Menus To Be Tested At First Loudoun County Public Schools Food Show
The community will get to taste potential school menu recipes created by chefs and vendors at the new food show.
ASHBURN, VA — If you've ever wanted a say in how school menus are chosen, now's the chance. The community will get the chance to sample potential school menu recipes being tested at Loudoun County Public Schools' new food show.
The school division's first food show will be held Friday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Independence High School, 23115 Learning Circle, Ashburn, VA. More than 30 LCPS chefs and food service vendors will offer samples of food and share recipes. Over a dozen community partners will also be on site to share information about health, from hunger relief to exercise.
According to LCPS, the event is intended to get student feedback on "comfort foods, culturally inclusive recipes, and delicious snacks" to ensure healthy school menus align with students' desires.
