Loudoun Cops Ask Public For Video Of Ashburn Burglar
Police detectives are asking One Loudoun residents for surveillance video in effort to catch burglar.
ASHBURN, VA- The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is working to identify the burglar who broke into an Ashburn home last weekend. To find him, sheriff's detectives are seeking home security surveillance video images from nearby homes in the One Loudoun community.
The burglar entered the home in the 20600 block of Exchange Street shortly after midnight on Saturday, July 6, "after he apparently gained access to a garage door opener from an unlocked vehicle," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
The individual opened the garage to enter the home. Once inside, he stole jewelry and a firearm, the sheriff's office said.

The burglar is then seen on surveillance video leaving the home on a bicycle taken from the home’s garage. The victims discovered the burglary after returning home on Saturday, according to the LCSO.
The burglar is described as an unknown male, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and was wearing pants and a white pullover sweatshirt with the hood up, the LCSO said.

Following the burglary, sheriff's deputies and detectives canvassed the neighborhood seeking videos from surveillance systems that may have caught the burglar on camera. The neighborhood is a few blocks south of the One Loudoun shopping center.
In addition, the detectives are asking residents who live in or near the burglary location, and have external cameras that have stored recordings, to review their video during the time frame of 10 p.m. on July 5 to 4 a.m. on July 6.
