Mediterranean Breeze In Ashburn Closing After 21 Years

A family-owned Mediterranean restaurant will close later in January after 21 years in Ashburn.

ASHBURN, VA — A favorite spot for Greek food will soon say farewell to Ashburn.

The family-owned Mediterranean Breeze, located in the old Ashburn village center at 20693 Ashburn Road, will close at 3 p.m. on Jan. 19. According to the restaurant's closing announcement, it has been open for 21 years. It had been recognized multiple times with Best of Loudoun awards from the Loudoun Times-Mirror.

"Words cannot express our gratitude for your patronage and loyalty over the years," Chef Terry Kasotakis wrote in a social media post to customers. "We have truly loved being a part of the community here in Ashburn."

The restaurant is known for Greek specialties like gyros, souvlaki, dolmades and pastitsio plus breakfast options. There is also outdoor seating and a bar.

A reason for the closing was not specified. Mediterranean Breeze will have regular hours up to the closing. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and closed Monday.
