New Zaxby's Restaurant Opening In South Riding: Reports

The Georgia-based chain of Southern fried chicken eateries is launching its first D.C.-area location in South Riding, say media reports.

CHANTILLY, VA — A new Southern fried chicken restaurant planned to open its doors Monday in South Riding. Zaxby's, a Georgia-based chain of fast-casual restaurants, is commencing the operation of its first outlet in the Washington, D.C., area at 43820 Eastgate Shoppes Drive, according to media reports.

Zaxby's menu plays up the letter Z, with fare such as chicken fingerz, zalads and zappatizers, radio station WTOP reported. And it offers crinkle fries and chicken wings with a variety of sauces.

The 3,500-square-foot restaurant, next to a new Royal Farms convenience store off Route 50, seats up to 70 diners (see map below).
