Pedestrian Struck By Driver With No License In Sterling: LCSO

A driver was arrested after hitting a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

STERLING, VA—A man was arrested Tuesday night, April 23, after hitting a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene in the area of South Cottage Road and Lindsay Court, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Jose L. Lopez, 34, of Sterling, was charged with felony hit and run, misdemeanor hit and run and driving without a license. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries.

Shortly before 6 p.m., police were dispatched to the area for a reported hit-and-run incident. They found that after hitting the pedestrian, Lopez backed up and struck a vehicle before bolting. After an investigation, police found him at a nearby residence and arrested him. The pedestrian was treated by rescue personnel at the scene but declined further aid.
