Unclaimed Powerball Ticket From Ashburn Wins $1 Million
The Virginia Lottery is seeking a person to claim the ticket that won a runner-up prize in the Powerball drawing.

ASHBURN, VA — Someone who bought a Powerball ticket in Ashburn will soon have a million-dollar prize.
The Virginia Lottery said a ticket won in Ashburn won $1 million, which is the runner-up prize to the jackpot, in Monday's drawing. To win the $1 million prize, the ticket matched the first five numbers and only missed the Powerball number. The winning numbers for the Nov. 25 Powerball drawing were 5-35-45-60-63, and the Powerball number was 12.
The winning ticket came from Harris Teeter at 20070 Ashbrook Commons Plaza in Ashburn. The store gets a $10,000 bonus for selling a $1 million ticket.

According to the Virginia Lottery, the ticket winner has 180 days from the Nov. 25 drawing to claim the prize. The person should immediately sign the back of the ticket to claim ownership and can contact the Virginia Lottery.
The ticket from Ashburn was the only one in the U.S. to match the first five numbers in the Nov. 25 drawing. No ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, which brings the jackpot to an estimated $195 million for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing. The cash value of the jackpot is $90.7 million.

Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The chances of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. The overall odds of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 25.
