3 More Early Voting Sites To Open For Primary Election In Loudoun County

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Three more locations will join the Loudoun County Office of Elections and Voter Registration as early voting sites in the June 17 primary election.

The primary will be a Democratic race to determine nominees for lieutenant governor and attorney general. Democratic and Republican nominees for governor are already set — Democrat former Rep. Abigail Spanberger and Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears. Republican nominees for lieutenant governor and attorney general are set — John Reid and incumbent Jason Miyares, respectively.

Democratic candidates for lieutenant governor are Levar Stoney, Babur Lateef, Aaron R. Rouse, Victor Salgado, Ghazala Hashmi and Alexander Bastani. Attorney general candidates are Shannon Taylor and Jay Jones.

All registered voters can vote in the primary election, as Virginia does not register voters by party.

Early voting opened on May 2 at the Office of Elections and Voter Registration in Leesburg. Starting on June 7, three additional locations will open — Carver Senior Center in Purcellville, Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling and Dulles South Recreation Center in South Riding.

The soon-to-open Ashburn Recreation & Community Center was approved as a new early voting site, but that isn't expected to take effect until the November general election.

Here are the remaining hours:

Office of Elections in Leesburg, 750 Miller Drive, Suite 150, Leesburg, VA

  • Weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through June 13
  • Extended hours Saturday, June 7 and 14: 9 a.m. t o9 p.m.
  • Extended hours Tuesday, June 10 and 12: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Claude Moore Recreation Center- 46105 Loudoun Park Lane, Sterling, VA

Dulles South Recreation Center - 24950 Riding Center Drive, Chantilly, VA

Carver Senior Center- 200 E Willie Palmer Way, Purcellville, VA

  • Saturday, June 7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 10, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 12, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 14, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For voters completing a mail-in ballot, the deadline to request one is 5 p.m. on June 6. Voters can apply through the Virginia Department of Elections website or download a paper application and return it to the Loudoun County Office of Elections by mail (750 Miller Drive SE, Suite 150 Leesburg, VA 20175), fax (703-777-0622) or email (vote@loudoun.gov).

To vote on the primary election day, head to your assigned polling place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17. Check your registration status and polling place on the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal.

The deadline for voter registration or updating your address was May 27, but same-day registration is available. Same-day registered voters through the election day will cast a provisional ballot.
