STERLING, VA—A student was arrested Thursday after assaulting a School Resource Officer and a staffer inside Dominion High School at 21326 Augusta Drive, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The officer was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his unspecified injuries.

Shortly after 1 p.m., a member of the school administration was trying to get the student to go to the office from the cafeteria. The student refused several times and then assaulted the staff member. That's when a LCSO deputy assigned to the school tried to calm down the student, who then assaulted the deputy "who defended himself while taking the student into custody."
