Subject of Pursuit Charged with 3rd DUI in 10 Years

A Sterling man was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly eluding a deputy at a traffic stop in the Sterling Blvd./Route 7 area.

A deputy running radar in the Sterling Boulevard area initiated a traffic stop on a speeding car around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The driver continued to drive at a slow pace without stopping until he reached a traffic light at the Sterling Boulevard and Route 7 intersection. As the deputy began to exit his vehicle, the driver continued onto Route 7.

The deputy continued to pursue the driver onto westbound Route 7 when they turned onto Potomac View Road and eventually stopped in the Thrush Road area.

The driver, Jason M. Urchasko, 38, of Sterling, was charged with his third DUI in 10 years as well as refusal and eluding. He was also issued a summons for speeding.

Urchasko remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
