A man bent on stealing jewelry instead had to settle for stealing a vacuum cleaner from a Kohl's department store in Sterling: LCSO.

STERLING, VA—A man bent on stealing jewelry instead had to settle for stealing a vacuum cleaner Tuesday at a Kohl's department store in the 2100 block of Signal Hill Place, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. No description of the culprit was available but authorities are reviewing footage from surveillance cameras.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., police responded to the store for reported thievery. Seems a man was attempting to use a knife in an attempt to break into a jewelry display case. Once that endeavor proved unsuccessful, he grabbed a vacuum cleaner and bolted from the store.
When police arrived, the man was seen fleeing in a vehicle and they lost sight of him. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-777-0407.
