Suspect In Trump Campaign Office Burglary In Ashburn Arrested: Sheriff's Office
The suspect in the burglary of a Republican and Trump campaign office in Ashburn was arrested when police detained him in San Francisco.

ASHBURN, VA — The suspect sought in the burglary of a Republican and Donald Trump campaign office in Ashburn has been arrested, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
According to the sheriff's office, University of California San Francisco Police detained Toby Shane Kessler, 39, of no fixed address, for squatting in an unoccupied campus dormitory.
Kessler will face a burglary charge in relation to the Aug. 11 burglary of the 10th Congressional District Republican Committee headquarters at 20000 block of Ashbrook Place. At the time, the office was President-Elect Donald Trump's local campaign headquarters, and also the headquarters of the Virginia 10th congressional district Republican committee.

The sheriff's office said surveillance footage caught Kessler forcing entry to the office around 8:11 p.m. on Aug. 11. The suspect went through the back door and was inside for a brief time before leaving.
“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” said Sheriff Mike Chapman in a news release in August.

Authorities said Kessler has a criminal history and may have been in the Washington, D.C., region since 2018.
The sheriff's office released surveillance footage to the public several days after the burglary when they identified Kessler as the suspect. The sheriff's office plans to provide additional updates as the case progresses.
