USPS to Ashburn Residents: Check Your Mailbox for Bees
The U.S. Postal Service wants Ashburn residents to ensure their mailboxes and the areas surrounding them are bee and wasp-free.

The U.S. Postal Service is urging Ashburn residents to check their mailboxes and surrounding areas for beehives and nests.
“Bees, wasps, hornets or yellow jackets pose a real threat to anyone who approaches a mailbox,” said Ashburn Postmaster Chuck Gilliam in a statement. “That includes both mail carrier and customer.”

In the event swarming bees, beehives or nests are found around the mailbox, customers are urged to consult a professional bee removal service.
