Virginia Lottery Launches New '$1M Money Ball' Game

The Virginia Lottery is gearing up to replace itsWin for Life game with an all new Virginia-exclusive lottery game called $1 Million Money Ball.

Tickets for the $1 Million Money Ball go on sale this Sunday, Sept. 14 with the first drawing scheduled for the following Wednesday.

Players select five numbers from 1 to 35. The Lottery will draw five numbered balls out of 36 (including 35 numbered balls and one Gold Million Dollar Money Ball). Players who match all five numbers will win $100,000. But if the gold ball is drawn, an additional numbered ball will be drawn and the prize increases from $100,000 to $1 million. Drawings will be held every Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m.

The odds of winning any prize are roughly one in eight, while the odds of winning the million dollar grand prize are one in more than 2.3 million.

The final drawing for the Win for Life game will be Saturday, Sept. 13. Virginia has had 44 players win $1,000 each week for the rest of their lives, the Associated Press reports.
