What's Open, Closed For Thanksgiving 2024 In Ashburn, Loudoun County
The Thanksgiving holiday will result in various closures around Ashburn and Loudoun County, and some services will remain closed Friday.

ASHBURN, VA — Thanksgiving Day falls on Thursday, Nov. 28 this year, bringing a holiday break for students and employees.
Government offices, schools and some businesses will close for the holiday observance. Many government offices and services will also be closed on Friday, Nov. 29 for Black Friday, making it a four-day weekend. Before festivities get underway, runners will participate in the Ashburn Farm 10K/5K and 2K Fun Run on Thanksgiving Day.
Here are all the openings and closings to know around Ashburn and Loudoun County for Thanksgiving on Nov. 28 and Black Friday on Nov. 29.

Loudoun County government offices: Closed at 12 p.m. on Nov. 27 and all day on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.
Town of Leesburg: Town offices are closed on Nov. 28.

Loudoun County Public Schools: Closed on Nov. 27 to 29.
Courts: Closed at 12 p.m. on Nov. 27 and all day on Nov. 28 and 29. The Circuit Court Clerk's office closes at noon on Nov. 27 and is closed on Nov. 28 and 29.
Department of Motor Vehicles: All DMV customer service centers in Virginia will be closed on Nov. 28 to 30.
Libraries: Loudoun County libraries will close at 12 p.m. on Nov. 27 and be closed on Nov. 28 and 29.
Loudoun County Transit: On Nov. 27, Loudoun County Courthouse Shuttle from Pennington Garage and Lot to the Courthouse will stop running at 1:30 p.m., and the Commuter, Local (including routes serving the Silver Line Metrorail stations) and Paratransit Bus Services will run on regular schedules. On Nov. 28, Loudoun County bus services will not run. On Nov. 29, Commuter Bus Service and the Loudoun County Courthouse Shuttle from Pennington Garage and Lot and will not run, but local bus service (including routes serving the Silver Line Metrorail stations) and Paratransit Bus Service will run on regular schedules.
Metro: On Nov. 28, Metrorail will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight. It will be on a reduced Sunday schedule at all stations. Metrobus will run on a Sunday schedule. MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday, but subscription trips will be canceled.
Parks and recreation: All recreation centers will have normal hours on Nov. 27 and 29. On Nov. 28, recreation centers will be open from 5 a.m. to noon. The Round Hill Aquatic Center will have normal hours on Nov. 27 and 29 and be closed on Nov. 28. All community centers (excluding childcare) will close at noon on Nov. 27, are closed on Nov. 28 and open on Nov. 29 except for childcare and preschool. The Franklin Park Arts Center will close at noon on Nov. 27 and be closed on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. A Christmas Carol will be held at the Franklin Park Arts Center on Friday night. Park grounds, including trails, gardens, playgrounds, off-leash areas, skate parks, courts, and fields remain open from dawn to dusk, but park buildings are closed on Nov. 29.
Post offices: Closed on Nov. 28.
Senior centers: Closed at noon on Nov. 27 and closed on Nov. 28. Regular hours will resume on Nov. 29. There will be no bus transportation or lunch program on Nov. 27 or 29.
Trash and recycling: Town of Leesburg has no collections on Nov. 28 and will shift collections one day forward. For private trash collection services schedule changes, contact your hauler.
Virginia ABC: Virginia ABC stores will be closed on Nov. 28 and reopen for regular service on Nov. 29.
