Woman Carjacked While Loading Groceries In Sterling: LCSO

A man who carjacked a woman while she was loading groceries into her vehicle in Sterling was arrested after a brief manhunt, says the LCSO.

STERLING, VA—A man who carjacked a woman while she was loading groceries in the Regal Center parking Wednesday, May 8, was arrested in the area of Loudoun County Parkway and Route 50 following a brief manhunt, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Sandeep Singh, 28, of Sterling, was charged with carjacking and held without bond.

Shortly after noon, when the woman was finishing loading her groceries into her vehicle, an unknown man—Singh—approached her and asked her for her keys. He then pushed her out of the way, took her keys and fled the area in her vehicle. She suffered minor injuries.

Police were able to track the vehicle using its in-car security and emergency services system. They tracked it to Loudoun County Parkway, stopped traffic and found Singh in the stolen vehicle around 12:40 p.m.
