  1. NEC Corporation of America (NEC) and the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) have collaborated to develop a roadway warning system using private 5G and artificial intelligence (AI). The system aims to identify potential traffic hazards and provide warnings to drivers, potentially improving road safety and saving lives. Tests conducted in Blacksburg on the Virginia Smart Roads facility have demonstrated the effectiveness of the solution. The collaboration between NEC and VTTI aims to apply the results to intersections on live public roads, enhancing road safety through infrastructure-cooperative mobility. (Telecom Reseller)
