  2. The Blacksburg boys soccer team, led by coach Shelley Blumenthal, aims to continue their winning tradition and pursue their 14 state championship. The team has finished the regular season unbeaten and is motivated to defeat rivals Western Albemarle in the regional tournament. The team's senior leaders, including Nevin O'Dowd, Wyatt Eschenmann, and David "DJ" Garza, play vital roles both on and off the field, and they hope to end their high school careers on a high note by clinching the state championship. 3. The Christiansburg Town Council has rejected a $500,000 bid from Shelor Motor Mile to rename Christiansburg Huckleberry Park to "Motor Mile Christiansburg Huckleberry Park" for a duration of 10 years.
