• Valley swim stars hoping to build off Candy Cane Invitational (dnronline.com) — Broadway High’s own Jack Jacquez highlighted the Candy Cane Invitational by winning the boys 100-yard freestyle and cutting several seconds off his best time. The Valley District meet at JMU’s Godwin Hall also showcased strong swims from Turner Ashby, Rocktown, East Rockingham, and Spotswood athletes, who are all eyeing state-qualifying times and big postseason goals after the holiday break.
