Fairfax County Schools Closed Saturday, SAT Events Canceled

Fairfax County Public Schools will be closed on Saturday due to expected inclement weather. SAT testing events are canceled.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — All activities scheduled in Fairfax County Public Schools or on school grounds on Saturday have been canceled due to expected inclement weather.

A "bomb cyclone" of heavy rain, strong wind gusts and snow showers is forecast for Northern Virginia and D.C. on Saturday.

The cancellations cover SAT testing, extracurricular activities, interscholastic contests, team practices, field trips, professional learning and training courses, and recreation programs and community use by outside groups not affiliated with FCPS.

FCPS students can find information on make-up dates for the SAT on the College Board website.

A Fairfax County teen job fair scheduled for Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at West Springfield High School also has been canceled due to the winter weather. Another teen job fair is scheduled for Saturday, March 19 at Chantilly High School.

Adult and Community Education students should check their email for communications from ACE staff and instructors about activities on Saturday, FCPS said.
