Families, Friends Mourn 2 Teen Girls Killed In Fairfax Station Crash
Friends and family of two South County High School students killed in a car crash Tuesday night in Fairfax Station are mourning their loss.

BURKE, VA — Two teenage girls were killed and a third was seriously injured in a car crash Tuesday night in Fairfax Station, according to reports.
The two teenage girls, students at South County High School in Lorton, were declared dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred in the 7500 block of Lee Chapel Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The other girl was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
When they arrived at the scene, officers searched the area and found a 2019 Lexus IS350 off of the road. Fire and rescue personnel were able to remove the injured teenager, who was taken to the hospital.

Police said the car went off the road, flipped over, and landed on its roof.
Fairfax County Police have not released the identifies of the teenage girls. Virginia law prevents them from naming the juvenile victims without parental consent, according to the police department.

The family of one of the victims, Ariana Haftsavar, 16, told NBC4 that she was one of the two teens killed in the crash. Ariana was a kind and caring girl who dreamed of being a lawyer, her family said.
Ariana's family said she was a passenger in the car and was headed home from an SAT class, according to NBC4. The family had tracked Ariana's location with an app while they waited for her to get home for dinner. They felt something had happened when the location on the app stopped on Lee Chapel Road, NBC4 reported.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by a close friend of Ariana's for the Haftsavar family.
"Her parents are living in a nightmare. Their beautiful daughter is gone and every hope and aspiration they had for her passed away with her," the GoFundMe campaign reads. "Her kind soul and magnificent smile is only but a memory now. Words cannot describe the pain her family feels let alone her friends."
Funds raised will help to cover the cost of Ariana's funeral, Farzinfar said.
Friends identified the other girl killed in the crash as 16-year-old Ashlyn Brotemarkle, who was also a student at South County High School.
“She was a great friend,” Abby Beverly, her best friend, told WUSA9. “She always did everything for her friends.”
Michelle Morris of Lorton is organizing a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Ashlyn's parents to pay for her funeral.
"Anything you can give will be much appreciated to help them cover the costs of funeral expenses during this difficult time. All proceeds will be provided to Ashlyn’s parents," Morris wrote on the fundrasing website.
Residents who live along Lee Chapel Road told NBC4 that cars often drive dangerously fast on the stretch of road. Along the same stretch in 2015, a teenage girl lost control of her car and died in a three-car crash.
A woman who lives nearby told WUSA9 that the hilly road is in poor condition right now.
"So even if you are the world's most perfect driver, if someone is coming over on the other side a little too fast or isn't as familiar with the hills, it's a dangerous situation and there's no room for error at all," she said.
Fairfax County Police said they believe speed was a factor in the crash. They do not believe alcohol was a factor.
