New Fairfax Co. DMV Customer Service Center Sets Opening Date

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' new Braddock Road Customer Service Center is scheduled to open on Jan. 22.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles’ new Braddock Road Customer Service Center is scheduled to open on Jan. 22.

The DMV customer service center, located at 9911 Braddock Road, east of the Erickson Senior Living’s Woodleigh Chase facility, is scheduled to undergo final inspections by the State Fire Marshal and Virginia Department of Engineering and Building this week, according to Braddock District Supervisor James Walkinshaw.

The DMV’s Fair Oaks Mall Customer Service Center will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11. Equipment and furniture will then be moved to the new Braddock Road location to prepare for its Jan. 22 opening.

When it opens on Jan. 22, the Braddock Road Customer Service Center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Both service and testing options will be available at the Braddock Road Customer Service Center.

Customers may make an appointment, reserve a spot for same-day service, or stop by during operating hours. On-road skills testing and closed-course testing will be available.

Purchased by the Virginia DMV in 2015, the property of the new service center is the site of the former Northern Virginia Training Center, which housed people with disabilities.
