Gerry Connolly to Host Telephone Town Hall
Residents of the 11th congressional district are invited to participate in the call Tuesday.

If your home phone rings tonight around 8 p.m., it could be your congressman calling.
Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11th) will hold his 15th telephone town hall for residents of Virginia’s 11th congressional district Tuesday.
Constituents will be called shortly before the meeting begins at 8 p.m. Connolly will give a brief rundown of the top issues in Congress and issues he is working on and will then open it up to constituent questions, his office noted.

Any constituents who do not get the opportunity to personally ask a question of Connolly have the option of leaving a voicemail question and will subsequently receive a response.
Residents who participate in the telephone town halls have praised the format and the convenience of being able to communicate with their congressman from the comfort of their homes without having to fight traffic, according to a release from the congressman's office.

Since Connolly started the telephone town halls shortly after he took office in January 2009, more than 170,000 district residents have participated in a call with the congressman. On one call in 2010, more than 30,000 people joined a single call, his office noted.
