Ice Cream Social Planned for Memorial Day in Historic Centreville

Take a tour of the Spindle Sears house and enjoy the 1940s music and hand-cranked ice cream.

Centreville neighbors plan to celebrate Memorial Day, May 27, with an old-fashioned ice cream social in the heart of historic Centreville.

Here's the event description, from the Centreville Patch community calendar:

Take a step back in time and enjoy a traditional community gathering at the Spindle's Sears House in Historic Centreville Park. Tour the restored 1934 Brentwood model house, purchased by the Spindle family from a Sears catalogue. Enjoy music of the 1940s. There will be family games, and, of course, ice cream and other frozen treats.

The event starts at 11 a.m. This is the third time the Fairfax County Park Authority has sponsored the social, with support from the Centreville Historic Society and Friends of Historic Centreville. Donations will benefit the Historic Centreville Park.
