Single-Car Crash In Centreville Proves Fatal: Police
A 24-year-old Springfield man died Sunday night after his car ran off a Centreville street, say Fairfax County police.

CENTREVILLE, VA — A 24-year-old Springfield man died on the night of Sunday, July 7, from injuries he sustained when his car ran off a road in Centreville, according to the Fairfax County police. The crash occurred at about 9:40 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of New Braddock Road and Centreville Road (Route 28), the police said.
Detectives from the Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit made a preliminary determination that Thomas Iribarren, of Springfield, was driving westbound on New Braddock Road in his Toyota Corolla when he ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, the police said.
Iribarren was taken to a local hospital, where he died, the police said.

"Speed and alcohol appear to be factors which led to the crash," they said in a statement.
