Toyota Recalls More Than 800,000 Vehicles

The problem could cause airbags to deploy.

Toyota has announced a voluntary safety recall of more than 800,000 vehicles because of a problem with the air conditioning condenser unit housing. The recall includes Model Year 2012-2013 Camrys, Camry Hybrids, Avalons, Avalon Hybrids and Venza vehicles.

Water from the air conditioning condenser unit housing in the cars could leak onto the airbag control module, causing a short circuit which would result in the illumination of the airbag warning light. In some cases the air bag (s) could become disabled or inadvertently deploy.
