  1. Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on Saturday night in Arlington's Aurora Highlands neighborhood. Officials say a male victim was forced out of his parked vehicle at gunpoint before the two suspects fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. The suspects, who reportedly crashed the vehicle near the Jefferson Memorial and the Tidal Basin, were later chased and apprehended by police. A stolen firearm was recovered from the stolen vehicle.   2. If you frequently take Exit 10A from southboard I-395, you may need to find an alternate route for the next several months. Weather permitting, the ramp from I-395 to westbound Boundary Channel Drive will be closed starting this morning as part of an Interchange Improvements project by the Virginia Department of Transportation. Drivers will be detoured to a temporary stop sign on southbound I-395 Exit 9 for left turns onto westbound Boundary Channel. Exit 10B from southbound I-395 to southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway will also be closed through tomorrow morning. (ABC 7 News)
  3. Yesterday, Captain Cookie & The Milkman held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration for its new location in Courthouse. This is the first Arlington location of the D.C.-based cookie shop, which took over the former GNC on 2600 Clarendon Blvd. The grand opening featured a wheel where patrons could spin to win free t-shirts, cookies, ice cream, and other Captain Cookie merchandise. Ten percent of opening day sales were donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). (ARLnow)
  4. On Sunday afternoon, Arlington police responded to a report of breaking and entering in the 1400 block of 20th Street S. Officials determined that on the evening of Feb. 7 and around 12:05 p.m. on Feb. 12, an unknown suspect(s) entered an under-construction home and stole electronics and personal items that were inside. The investigation is ongoing and no suspect descriptions have been released at this time. (Advisory Groups & Commissions)

The Arlington County Board will hold its next regular meeting on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 8:30 a.m. and its recessed meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 3:00 p.m. The meetings will both be held in the County Board Room at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. (third floor) and are open to the public in-person or virtually via Microsoft Teams. The County website offers more information on speaking at a County Board Meeting.
