Driver Killed When Vehicle Crashes Into Arlington Residential Building: Police
Investigators believe that speed may have been a factor in a fatal, single-vehicle crash early Monday morning, authorities say.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County police are investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle striking a residential building near the intersection of South Glebe Road and I-395 early Monday, according to authorities.
County police and fire units responded shortly after midnight for the report of a crash with injuries in the 2400 block of 24th Road South.
"The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound on S. Glebe Road when they left the roadway and struck the exterior of a residential building, resulting in a vehicle fire," according to the incident report. "The fire was quickly extinguished by the Arlington County Fire Department."

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police. The driver's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
