Get Out: Fundraising Motorcyclists, AIDS Memorial Quilt and 'The Dark Knight Rises'

The weekend is only one day away. How are you going to use it?

When/Where: Friday, July 20 look for the bikers to roll onto M Street around 6 p.m. and festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Georgetown Kiehls Since 1851 (3110 M St., NW).

Why Go: Support the third annual Kiehl’s LifeRide for HIV/AIDS research. Meet celebrity guests including Sharon Stone and John Corbett from "Sex in the City." Join a celebration featuring motorcycle-inspired bites and motorcycle-themed . Celebrity Chefs including Georgetown's newest chef, Mike Isabella, will create the thematic desserts.

3. "The Dark Knight Rises"

When/Where: The movie opened in theaters throughout the metro area on Thursday, including the and the Regal Ballston Common Stadium 12. Check your local theater for showtimes.

Why Go: The New York Times calls this finale of the "Dark Knight" series, "the grave and satisfying finish to Mr. Nolan’s operatic bat-trilogy." Even if you're not impressed by all hype, do you really want to be the only guy in your office on Monday who didn't go see what's likely to be the biggest blockbuster in years?

Pricing: Primetime tickets to the non-3D version of the film generally start at about $12.50. Expect to pay more for the 3D version and more, of course, for snacks and popcorn.

4. Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival

When/Where: The movies starts at dusk at the near the Key Bridge in Rosslyn.

Why Go: If you'd rather save some money instead of shelling out at least $60 for tickets, snacks and drinks at a traditional movie theater, how does a free movie sound? This week, the outdoor film festival features "Dave," starring Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver.

Pricing: Free to attend.

When/Where: The Washington National Cathedral (3101 Wisconsin Ave., NW) has panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt on display through Thursday, July 26. The interfaith memorial service to Honor Those Living with HIV/AIDS will be Saturday, July 21, at 7 p.m.

Why Go: DC is hosting the 19th annual International AIDS Conference July 22-27 and this year marks the quilt’s 25th anniversary. The St. George panel was blessed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu on June 22 in Cape Town, South Africa before makings its journey to Washington, D.C. Another notable, "The Last One," has been rarely displayed in public.
