Looking Back: Biggest Arlington Stories of 2012 (October through December)

2012 brought a mix of hyperlocal news and regionally relevant events on both Clarendon-Courthouse-Rosslyn Patch and what is now Arlington Patch throughout the year.

Today we countinue rounding up the most-read stories on both sites from throughout 2012.

October - Election-related news was temporarily overtaken by a scary incident at Ballston Common Mall. A man, who police later identified as Leon A. Traille, threw a Molotov cocktail into the food court area. Police said Arlington residents were lucky the device did not detonate. Politics took center stage again later in the month when Patrick Moran, the son of U.S. Rep. James Moran, was videotaped seemingly giving advice on how to skirt voter identification laws.

November - After all the election news had passed, there was one thing Arlington residents still wanted to talk about: those political commercials. At a post-election forum in Arlington, Mo Elleithee, a senior strategist for Tim Kaine's Senate campaign, and Boyd Marcus, a senior political advisor for George Allen's Senate bid, agreed that many ads funded by Super PACs were "total crap." Later in the month, President Barack Obama and his daughters visited One More Page in Arlington as part of Small Business Saturday. 

December - December is still in progress and the news — and our readers — may surprise us yet. So far, Patrick Moran is dominating Arlington news with a domestic assault charge (and his response to it).
