MLK Day of Service in Arlington County
How to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in Arlington County.

Want to volunteer in honor of the Martin Luther King Day of Service? Here are two opportunities from Volunteer Arlington:
- Raise awareness about emergency preparedness at the Volunteer Emergency Support Team, or VEST, canvassing event in the Columbia Grove area. Volunteers will hit the pavement and work in teams to share information with residents about creating emergency plans and accessing information in an emergency. Visit the VEST website to learn more and register. The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia Grove Community Center, 1010 S. Frederick St.
- Pack care packages for U.S. service members, wounded warriors, veterans and first responders at the Unite America in Service event. The event is from 9 a.m. to 4:45 pm Saturday in Washington. Learn more about this event, sponsored by the Points of Light and Target, and register at Unite America in Service.
In addition to service opportunities, Arlington County will host its 44th Annual Tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Washington-Lee High School, 1301 N. Stafford St. Visit Arlington County's website for details.
