• Crisis Center comes to Alleghany Highlands (wsls.com) — A new 24/7 mental health crisis receiving center is coming to Covington, funded by $3.9 million in state support and expected to open in fall 2026. The Alleghany Highlands facility will ease ER and law-enforcement strain by offering short-term crisis care, future stabilization beds, and a mobile crisis team for local adults and children.
   

• Obituary: Arnold Morgan, 83 - West Virginia Daily News (wvdn.com) — Covington residents are mourning the passing of 83-year-old Arnold Morgan, a longtime resident and former Westvaco engineer in Covington. Born in West Virginia, he built a career in industry, later running his own consulting business. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, children including a son in Covington, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life is planned for the spring.
