His departure comes after Cumberland’s fund balance grew from $8 million to over $12 million and could shape how county finances and services are managed going forward.
   

• Organization to provide housing (farmvilleherald.com) — Residents in Cumberland County could soon see new supportive housing options as Kiana’s Serenity House expands beyond its first homes in Prince Edward. The program offers fully furnished shared housing, coaching, and help connecting to community resources, specifically aiming to get people off the streets and into stable, dignified living situations. Donations of beds, household goods, and hygiene items are being sought to speed the expansion.
