Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of 'Incoherent' Victim In Woods Behind A Home: Police
A man was arrested in connection with a sexual assault that was reported near Glendale Road in Dale City on Saturday morning, police said.

DALE CITY, VA — A Dale City man was arrested on Wednesday and charged in connection with the sexual assault that was reported near Glendale Road on Saturday, police said. The man, Jose Martin Zelaya Rivera, was charged with one count of forcible sodomy, according to a report from the Prince William County Police Department.
Police were called to the 4300 block of Glendale Road in Woodbridge on Saturday morning for a report of an unconscious man. A witness told police that they observed an unknown man appear to sexually assault a 59-year-old man. The witness said the assault occurred in the wooded area behind a residence, according to the police report.
The victim was then taken to an area hospital for treatment. On Thursday, the police department said the victim suffered a head injury earlier in the day and was incoherent during the assault.

On Wednesday, the police department received a tip that allowed them to identify the suspect. Detectives responded to the suspect's home on Glendale Road and took him into custody without further incident.
The suspect was identified as Zelaya Rivera. He was charged with one county of forcible sodomy. He is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center and his court date is pending.
