ACDS Students Hold Poetry Reading at St. Elmo's Coffee Pub

Third-grade students read their favorite poems, plus original works.

Alexandria Country Day School third-graders took over St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub on Tuesday for a poetry reading.

Students read their favorite poem along with two original works that they crafted during their study of poetry this year.

Students offered many different styles of poetry, from limericks and haikus to color poems.

“We were very proud of how well our students showcased their knowledge of different poetry forms and the creativity displayed in their original works,” ACDS teachers Mimi Worrell and Liz Holland said in a press release.

Located at 2400 Russell Road, Alexandria Country Day School is an independent day school for girls and boys from kindergarten through eighth grade.
